Plenty of time in the pool and gym was combined with some team building games when 26 members of Watford Swimming Club flew out to Lanzarote for their 2024 training camp.

The team were put through their paces by the club’s experienced coaching team of Jamie Irvine, Tom Sullivan and Alan Coldwell, with swimmers training around 12 kilometres per day.

The swimmers also had access to gym facilities next to the pool, enabling to take part in strength and conditioning sessions.

The camp didn’t stop at training. Led by team managers Adele Rose, Wendy Brewster and Sam Evason, the swimmers took part in lots of team building games including bingo, a quiz, relays and even a guess the baby game.

It was a week to remember for the swimmers and coaches, putting them in good heart for some big weeks in the pool, starting with the East Region Swimming Championships.
