Taunton St Andrews made the long trip to Wiltshire for their opening match of the season on Saturday.

They faced newly promoted Burbage and Easton Royal, who ran out the winners by 37 runs.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Burbage found themselves 50 for five, one of the wickets to fall being that of former Somerset favourite Pete Trego, who was bowled by Lloyd Alley for one.

However, a sixth wicket partnership of 77 between Dellon Peiris, who remained unbeaten on 71, and Daniel Wootton, who hit 39 before being removed by off spinner Archie Vaughan, enabled the hosts to reach 183 for eight from their 50 overs.

Vaughan ended with three wickets for 35 from his 10 overs while Kazi Szymanski took two for 20.

Trego took two for 16, while James Lavis and Peiris both claimed three scalps apiece.
