Taylor Swift may have filled a lot of Blank Space at Anfield over the last few days - but the songstress has caused a little bit of Bad Blood with her claim about the famous stadium.

The Anti-Hero singer has just completed a hugely-successful run of concerts at Liverpool Football Club's home during which three shows were packed with ecstatic fans.

It prompted the 34-year-old to declare on Thursday's opening night that her 'Swifties' had smashed the Anfield attendance record - instantly raising eyebrows among Liverpool supporters.

“We love you so much and, you know, while I was walking to the stage, they pulled me aside and told me another thing you did for us tonight," she said. “And that thing is that you – you broke the all time attendance record for this stadium tonight.

“Don’t you just love knowing there’s never been as many people in this room as there are right now? I, personally, love that feeling.”

Unfortunately for the Pennsylvania-born tunesmith, the information she was provided wasn't entirely accurate. While more than 52,000 packed into Anfield on each of the three nights to surpass the previous best concert attendance for the stadium, it was still a long way short of the 61,905 who set the overall record for Liverpool's FA Cup tie against Wolves back in February 1952.

And with the new £80million Anfield Road Stand redevelopment having now been completed, the attendance for each night of her stay was lower than 18 Liverpool matches last season alone.

Taylor, then, wasn't quite able to fill Anfield for one night as much as Luton Town helped manage in February. Still, that she's about to embark on a record-breaking eight nights at Wembley, she'll be able to Shake It Off without too much worry.
