Tennessee Titans pick Alabama OT JC Latham in 1st round of 2024 NFL draft. What you need to know

The Tennessee Titans selected Alabama OT JC Latham with the No. 7 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Latham spent three seasons at Alabama, two as a starter, and emerged as the Crimson Tide's top offensive lineman last season for an SEC championship team. Here's everything you need to know about Latham.

JC Latham scouting report

Latham is a massive presence who started two seasons at right tackle for Alabama before declaring early eligibility for the draft as an underclassman. He passed on an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl despite a chance to showcase himself at left tackle there. He gained more than 20 pounds in the offseason between 2022 and 2023 to play at 360 last year, but has trimmed back down during draft preparations. A dominant run blocker with a nasty demeanor, Latham loves to finish blocks with his man on the ground, and set the tone for UA's offensive line in 2023. As a pass blocker, he handles speed rushers well for his size but will likely need to keep his weight down to do so effectively in the pros. He was heavily penalized as a sophomore with 11 flags, the most of any player on the Crimson Tide roster, but cut his flags down to seven as a junior last season.

JC Latham height, weight

Latham, who is from Oak Creek, Wisconsin, and went to high school at IMG Academy in Florida, is 6-6 and 342 pounds.

JC Latham college stats

Credited with 41 knockdown blocks last season, up from 29 in 2022. Two sacks allowed in last two seasons (both in 2023) with the Crimson Tide.

JC Latham highlights

Latham was named first-team All-SEC by both the Associated Press and SEC coaches last year, and a second-team All-American by multiple services, including USA TODAY, Pro Football Focus, the Associated Press, The Sporting News, the Football Writers Association of America and the Walter Camp Foundation. He was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week in the Crimson Tide's Week 7 home win over Arkansas in allowing no sacks, no QB hits and no hurries. He registered a career-high seven knockdown blocks in a road win at Mississippi State, and scored his highest grade of the season from the UA coaching staff against the toughest of competition in Alabama's 27-24 upset win over Georgia in the SEC title game.

Coming off a high ankle sprain suffered on the final play of Alabama's season in overtime against Michigan, Latham only participated in position drills at the NFL Scouting Combine. At Alabama's Pro Day event on March 20, he again did position drills only. Although he might have performed in private workouts for individual NFL clubs, there is no available data on Latham for the various combine events.
