‘If he serves like that, he’ll win Wimbledon’.

Those were the words of World No.10 Johan Kriek in 1985, after he had just been beaten in straight sets by a 17-year-old German tennis player called Boris Becker in the Queen’s Club final.

In the latest daily Tennis Podcast, during what would have been Wimbledon fortnight, Becker’s run to the Wimbledon title is re-lived.

The team talk to Kriek about why he was so convinced about his opponent’s credentials, to Kevin Curren who Becker beat in the Wimbledon, and to Stefan Edberg, so long Becker’s rival.

As well as marking the German’s extraordinary breakthrough, the podcast covers the career that followed - his many successes, his financial problems, and how he is remembered.

The fourth edition of Wimbledon Re-Lived will cover the classic 1991 women’s final between Steffi Graf and Gabriela Sabatini.
