Who will feature in the next big rivalry in women’s tennis? That was one of the question asked of Tennis Podcast hosts Catherine Whitaker (Amazon Prime Video, Eurosport) and David Law (BBC 5 Live, BT Sport) in this week’s listener questions show.

They both had their own ideas about the second player that would feature in it, but were in agreement about the first - new US Open champion Bianca Andreescu. Such is her ability, ambition and attitude, Whitaker and Law are convinced that she will figure strongly in most of women’s tennis storylines in the years to come.

They were also asked which historical Grand Slam result they would change if they could, which of the Next Gen ATP stars would be the first to break through, and what the ‘Big 3’ - Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal would be most likely to do when they retire from playing tennis.

The Tennis Podcast is produced weekly throughout the year, and daily at the Grand Slam tournaments in association with Telegraph Sport. Each season of the show is crowdfunded by its listeners every December.

This week’s Tennis Podcast is sponsored by the Davis Cup by Rakuten Madrid Finals, which takes place 18-24 November. Ticket details - www.daviscupfinals.com
