NEW Weymouth signing Brooklyn Genesini slotted in “seamlessly” on his Terras debut, manager Mark Molesley believes.

Versatile right-back Genesini, 22, was a free agent after Swindon Town released him back in May.

Genesini played for hometown club Yeovil Town against Weymouth last season during the Terras’ 1-0 win and impressed with his ability on the ball and combination play.

Those attributes were evident in Thursday’s 4-0 win over Hamworthy Recreation as the former Næstved loanee made an instant impact after coming on at half-time.

He appears to be a natural replacement for Teddy Howe, who left Weymouth in May.

Molesley also believes the defender has a head start on other new signings at the club, due to his formative days at AFC Bournemouth.

Speaking to Echosport, Molesley said: “He had a good season last season and he’s a player with a great reputation.

“I feel like Brooklyn I know well, I know what he’s capable of and how hungry he is. He’s got an opportunity to go and showcase himself.

“I feel like we’ve got a really good young player who has all the best to come.

“We’re already further ahead with him because of the education he’s had at Bournemouth.

“The contact time I had with him, albeit quite a while ago, hopefully some of the things we’re speaking about aren’t double Dutch to him.

“I think you can see that straight away in that second half, he looked very comfortable.

“We really attacked well down that right side, him and Malachi (Linton) linked up really well.

“I think we can see some combinations and links with him. He’s just come in straight away and seamlessly stepped into the first game.

“I think that shows he’s on our wavelength.”

Genesini is Weymouth’s 14th summer addition.
