He also was a two-time captain, respected for his toughness and no-nonsense personality. He’s a tell-it-like-he-sees-it guy.

Cade Stover highlights

Ohio State has been known for not throwing much to its tight ends for a generation. Stover changed that. He caught 77 passes in his final two seasons. He was able to stretch the field and beat defensive backs. Against Michigan, he made a terrific catch down the seam with a defender draped on his back to help Ohio State begin to rally from a 14-3 deficit, though the Wolverines would prevail. His ability to catch balls in traffic and fight for extra yards was a hallmark of his career.

Cade Stover NFL combine measurables

Stover ran a solid 4.65 in the 40 at the combine. His broad jump of 117 inches was one of the best at his position. His vertical jump was 34.5 inches, which was well above average. He did the shuttle run in 4.45 seconds. The results from Ohio State’s pro day are unofficial and not publicly released, though Stover did well catching passes.
