The Longhorns are currently tied with the Sooners for the top spot in the Big 12 standings. With a chance to play in the Big 12 Championship game and hopes of making it to the College Football Playoffs, this game is a must-win for the Longhorns.
The Texas Longhorns secured a notable 35-6 win against BYU with the help of backup quarterback, Maalik Murphy, who filled in for the injured Quinn Ewers. Ewers sustained a shoulder injury in the game against Houston and is currently considered week-to-week until he is fit to return for the Longhorns. Murphy is expected to start in the upcoming game against the Wildcats in Week 10 and will have Archie Manning as his backup if needed.
The Kansas State Wildcats are coming off a 41-0 win over Houston and still have hopes to defend their Big 12 championship.
