How did you do in Yahoo Daily Fantasy this week? Did you put all your footballing knowledge and use our Gameweek 31 tips to help you to glory?

Player ‘Scorpio71’ certainly did. Their team scored an impressive 125.50 points, which was more than enough to win a whopping £200 simply by entering our £5 ‘Premier League £1,000 Wednesday’ competition – that’s a profit return of £195!

Wednesday’s Daily Fantasy Winner

Scorpio71’s defence was a mixed bag – the potentially risky selections Arsenal duo Gabriel (9.60 points) and third-choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez (13) turned out to be inspired selections, which was required because Liverpool’s James Milner (3.50) and James Collins (2.20) disappointed.

His three attackers also brought back mixed returns with Liverpool’s Divock Origi (14.05) and Roberto Firmino (14.30) scoring solidly, however Alexis Sanchez had a rare off day – only scoring 4.65 points, despite Arsenal putting three goals – three!past West Ham.

However, none of that mattered because his midfield scored an astonishing 73.80 points between them. Eden Hazard and Dele Alli were the star turns for their respective clubs, and this was reflected in their Fantasy points with both players returning more than 20 points each! They were ably supported by James Ward-Prowse and Kamil Grosicki who each contributed a goal or an assist.

Tuesday’s Daily Fantasy Winner

Another strong performer, this time from Tuesday, was Ola.

Ola entered Tuesday’s edition of the £1000 Premier League competition and also turned their £5 into a very tidy return of £200. Unlike Scorpio71, Ola didn’t have any truly standout players – only 4 reached double figures – but that didn’t matter because almost all of their players contributed solid scores. Ola’s score of 112.35 is proof of that.

Unlike Scorpio71, it was Ola’s forward line who drove them to victory. The trio of Troy Deeney, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jamie Vardy all scored more than 13 points, while Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Scheimchel scored a fantastic 16 points.

With the exception of Wilfried Ndidi (4.65 points) Ola’s remaining six players all had remarkably consistent scores. Of the six Daley Blind was the lowest scorer with 6.25 points, while Nacer Chadli and Jose Holebas both top scored with 8.30 points.
