Which forward will score the most points this week? Yahoo has crunched the numbers for you and come up with the three best forward picks for this weekend’s football.

Mohamed Salah: LIV vs SOU (£27)

Mohamed Salah has hit the ground running at Liverpool and he has not stopped running since his arrival from Roma in June. The Egyptian has scored seven goals in the league so far, spearheading the Liverpool frontline with precision and endless pace.

He tops the charts in shots on target (24) and is second behind Harry Kane for shots inside the box (32) this season. On Yahoo daily fantasy, he has scored 53.35 points in his last three league games, giving him an average of 17.8 points per game.

Southampton have been dealt a blow in their plans to contain the winger, now that Mario Lemina is a major doubt for their Saturday game with the Reds. Southampton don’t concede many but Salah doesn’t need to score to earn points: his shoot-on-sight trait keeps his points ticking over and his explosive nature makes him a must-have for this weekend.

Alvaro Morata: CHE @ WBA (£23)

The former Real Madrid forward arrived at Stamford Bridge with big expectations, following his £60m club record move to West London and he has exceeded expectations so far. In his first 10 Premier League games, he has been directly involved in 10 goals, including the winner against Manchester Untied last weekend.

The Spaniard is more patient with his shots than Salah, but he has still fired off six attempts in his last two games, four of which found the target. Morata is kindly priced at just £23, because he is more goal-dependent. The forward scored just 2.75 points against Watford and 1.65 points against Manchester City recently.

Fortunately for him, West Brom have not won a game in the league since August and the Baggies have given up five goals in their last two games at the Hawthorns.

Romelu Lukaku: MUN vs NEW (£25)

Having started his Manchester United career prolifically, with seven goals in his opening seven games in the league, ‘Big Rom’ has failed to score in four games since. Three of the fixtures did include top-six rivals in Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea which means Jose Mourinho will have reeled in Lukaku’s attacking freedom to prevent a loss.

Despite all their success this season, Newcastle are still a newly-promoted side visiting Old Trafford this Saturday. The Red Devils scored 14 goals in their opening four games at the Theatre of Dreams and with their noisy neighbours already eight points clear of them after just 11 games, Mourinho will have to let the horses run freely again in order to catch Manchester City.

Lukaku averaged 16.2 Yahoo points during United’s dominant opening four home games and looks set for another 10+ pointer this weekend.
