Tim Kennedy vs. Rashad Evans Set for UFC 205
Tim Kennedy will return to the Octagon to welcome Rashad Evans to the middleweight division at UFC 205 in New York. MMAWeekly.com confirmed the fight following an initial report by FloCombat.
Kennedy (18-5) hasn't fought in two years, since he lost a controversial fight to Yoel Romero at The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia Finale in Quebec. The controversy surrounding that bout stems from Kennedy nearly finishing Romero in round two, but then getting stopped in the third frame after Romero's corner caused a 28-second delay in between rounds. Many attribute Romero's ability to recover to that delay.

After that fight, Kennedy took some time away from the cage to work on various other projects including participating in the History Channel series “Hunting Hitler” and starting a self-defense program called Sheepdog Response.
In returning to the Octagon, Kennedy will welcome Evans (19-5-1) to the middleweight division.
Evans made his way to the UFC by winning the heavyweight tournament on season two of The Ultimate Fighter. Following the Finale, he immediately returned to the light heavyweight division, where he went on to win a UFC championship.
After having spent the majority of his career at light heavyweight, Evans has lost four of his last six fights at 205 pounds, so he's looking to the 185-pound weight class to get a fresh start as he enters the twilight years of his career.
UFC 205 will be the promotion's first event in the state of New York, after the state approved mixed martial arts sanctioning earlier this year. UFC 205 takes place on Nov. 12 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
