Todd Cantwell has been 'offered' to Lecce - but in a bizarre gaffe his agent messaged the WRONG person.

With Philippe Clement set to clear out some of his underperforming Rangers players, it has been reported that the English midfielder is one of those who could be allowed to find another club. And he didn't help his cause by recently getting into a spat with a Gers an on social media, branding them a "weapon."

Now, it would seem his representative has indeed been offering him round to clubs - but not making the best job of it. Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is now an agent and is acting for the 26-year-old. And in his attempts to drum up interest in Cantwell, it would seem the Spaniard has gone to Lecce coach Luca Gotti, but instead sent the message to a fan page on Instagram named 'Luca Gotti reacts' in a bizarre mix-up.

Screenshots obtained by Football Italia show messages from Enrique's verified account, reading: "Hello Luca, hope you are well and nice talking to you. Jose Enrique here, a former football player and agent. I have two players I believe could be of your interest. Both of them are signed by me and by brother. Can you let me know your thoughts?"

He then adds two links to transfermarkt pages - one to Cantwell's and one to that of Norway international Marcus Pedersen, who spent last season on loan in Serie A with Sassuolo from Feyenoord.

Lecce were previously linked with Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke but wages proved to be a problem in January, though it's thought they may still be monitoring things.
