Tom Parker 'overwhelmed by support' after revealing tumour diagnosis

The Wanted’s Tom Parker says he is “overwhelmed” by the support he has received since revealing his brain tumour diagnosis.

The singer, 32, revealed on Monday (October 12) that he has been diagnosed with an “inoperable” brain tumour.

Parker later posted on Instagram that he was “overwhelmed with everyone’s love, support and positivity."

“We have had so many people reach out with positive stories and it’s been incredible," he wrote.

“Thank you to @ok_mag for their exclusive interview with us and being so understanding.

“We are fighting this - thanks to everyone behind us fighting alongside us,” he concluded. “Let’s do this.”

His bandmate Max George posted a message of support on his Instagram account, hailing Parker and his wife Kelsey Hardwick’s “bravery”.

“It’s obviously a devastating and scary time... but for those who don’t know Tom I will say this. There is nothing that he has ever given up on and has never taken no for an answer,” he wrote.

“His heart is the size of a lions, and it is his drive and passion that has always led The Wanted and made sure we are looked after the right way.”

He continued: “We are all on this journey together... and I can’t wait to get back on the stage with you and the boys and have a proper celebration when you’re better. You got this my man. I love you, Kels and all the family with all my heart and I’ll be right here.”

The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Sykes also commented with their support for Parker, while stars such as Rylan Clark-Neal, James “Arg” Argent and Nathan Sykes shared words of encouragement.

Parker shared his diagnosis on social media on Monday, saying he and Hardwick are “absolutely devastated” but will “fight this all the way.”

Hardwick, 30, is pregnant with their second child.
