Dundee will be without Tony Docherty in the dugout for Sunday's clash with Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers' title-chasers visit Dens Park this weekend as they aim to take another major step towards three-in-a-row. It's the first time the Dark Blues have achieved a top-six finish since 2015 but they'll have to negotiate the first of their five post-split fixtures without their boss on the sidelines.

That's because Docherty - who will surely be in the running for PFA Manager of the Year - faces a one-match suspension after picking up four yellow cards across the campaign. The Dees gaffer will be forced to watch on from the main stand after his booking at Pittodrie earlier this month.

Docherty was cautioned by Nick Walsh after venting his fury at the whistler following a tackle from Grame Shinnie on Dara Castelloe. His previous slap on the wrists came against Motherwell, St Johnstone and St Mirren but Docherty was able to take up his usual place against Rangers due to SFA rules which state that a one-match ban for four yellows comes into play 14 days after the offence.

Docherty will be allowed access to the dressing room up until 75 minutes before kick-off but won't be allowed to re-enter until 15 minutes after full-time. The Dees will also be without captain Joe Shaughnessy after his injury in the 0-0 draw with Rangers, while on-loan Liverpool starlet Owen Beck is also expected to miss the rest of the campaign.
