Tony Ferguson Collects a Bonus for UFC Mexico City Win Over Former Champ

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the fighter bonuses stemming from Saturday's UFC Mexico City shortly following the event. Rafael dos Anjos, Tony Ferguson, Ricardo Lamas, and Douglas Silva de Andrade banked the $50,000 performance-based incentives.

Fight of the Night honors went to the main event fighters, dos Anjos and Ferguson. It was the first fight since relinquishing the belt to Eddie Alvarez for former champion dos Anjos. He looked sharp and was successful in the early going. As the five-round fight played out, Ferguson starting picking the Brazilian apart resulting in a unanimous decision win. Ranked No. 3 in the 155-pound division heading into the bout, Ferguson made a case to be next in line for a title shot following the UFC 205 showdown between Alvarez and Conor McGregor.

No. 4 ranked featherweight Ricardo Lamas overcame having to face a bigger Charles Oliveira who missed weight by a staggering 9 pounds at Friday's official weigh-in. Oliveira had the advantage in the opening round, but the momentum took a sudden change in the second frame. Lamas locked on a guillotine choke and Oliveira was forced to tap out, punching his ticket to a performance bonus.

Douglas Silva de Andrade earned himself a performance of the night bonus for his third round highlight reel finish of Henry Briones in the third round of their bantamweight bout. The Brazilian delivered an elbow followed by a spinning back fist that left his opponent unconscious on the canvas.

UFC Mexico City took place at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico. The 13-fight card featured eight decisions, two submission wins, and three knockout finishes.
