Gareth Bale continued his resurgence at Tottenham with two goals and an assist as Burnley were thrashed on Sunday.

Scoring his first after just 68 seconds, prodding home a Heung-min Son cross, he quickly turned provider for Harry Kane.

Lucas Moura slammed home a third before the half-hour mark to leave Spurs cruising at the break.

Bale wasted no time to put any lingering doubts to bed, cutting inside and beating Nick Pope via the inside of the near post.

To add the cherry on top of a fine afternoon for Spurs, Dele Alli was given 25 minutes to impress as he looked to continue his own return to prominence.

Son, who ended the game with two assists, was unlucky not to himself get on the scoresheet when latching onto a Dele pass and driving low at Pope, who did well to save.

The result takes Spurs back above Arsenal, who had beaten Leicester earlier in the day, ahead of a trip to Fulham on Thursday.
