Tottenham beat Newcastle 5-3 at St. James' Park tonight to set up an FA Youth Cup semi-final against London rivals Chelsea.

Keanan Bennetts fired the visitors into an early lead while Reo Griffiths capitalised on a goalkeeping error to double the advantage with the game barely 10 minutes old.

Lewis McNall gave the Magpies a lifeline when he slotted home a second-half penalty but Kazaiah Sterling restored the north Londoners' two-goal cushion with a low shot from the edge of the penalty area.

McNall lashed home his second goal of the game in the 83rd minute but Spurs produced an immediate response as Japhet Tanganga netted from close range.

Newcastle refused to lie down and bundled home a third goal in a thrilling finale but Dylan Duncan finally wrapped up the victory with a curled finish to seal Tottenham's place in the last four.

The north Londoners will face Chelsea, who are aiming to lift the prestigious trophy for the fourth time in a row, in a two-legged semi-final.

The other semi-final will be contested by Stoke and Manchester City.
