Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou marked his Euro 2024 punditry debut by leaving Ian Wright in stitches. The Arsenal legend was joined on ITV's panel for the Belgium vs Romania game by Postecoglou and Karen Carney, with the topic of England's tournament coming up ahead of kick-off.

The Three Lions have put in two rather disappointing performances against Serbia and Denmark, respectively, though they have still picked up four points. With that in mind, Wright was discussing England ahead of their clash against Slovenia with one particular remark, prompting Postecoglou to chip in with an excellently-timed joke that Wright could not help but laugh at.

"I quite like how calm he looked there," Wright said of Jordan Pickford's interview with ITV. "It's there for everyone to see; we're still in a great position. The way everyone has talked about it, you'd think we need to win this game to stay in the tournament.

"There's a lot of pressure on the guys and it wasn't a great performance and obviously we want to see them play a lot better than that because we know they can. The expectations are high just because of how good the players are we've got and that is why people are disappointed, but at the same time, you can see their in control of everything, and everybody seems calm. It's a big game Tuesday, but everyone should just remain calm."

Presenter Laura Woods then turned to Postecoglou to ask for his thoughts, with the Australian already smiling because of Wright's sudden change in opinion. "I'm laughing because Wrighty wasn't calm on the drive over," he said. Wright, after laughing very loudly, then responded: "Don't out me, Ange, don't out me."

"He was just panicking a bit more in the car than he is now," the Spurs boss joked. "I think experience does count in this scenario. I think the key is they've still got to stay in the present, we've had four points in the past, and things turned out ok."

As has become commonplace in his Tottenham press conference, Postecoglou simply cannot resist either a sarcastic joke or tongue-in-cheek jab at another, with Wright facing the full brunt of that.
