Tottenham have sold out Wembley Stadium for Thursday night's Europa League clash against Gent.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are trailing from the first-leg of their last-32 encounter but it has not served to dampen enthusiasm of Spurs fans, some of whom were able to purchase tickets for as little as £5.

The north Londoners' are set to play in front of a capacity crowd as they attempt to overturn a one-goal deficit and book their place in the next round.

Spurs set a new home attendance record of 85,512 during their Champions League defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in October 2016 and will welcome similar levels of support on Thursday, despite dropping into Europe's secondary cup competition.

Pochettino named a strong side for the FA Cup victory over Fulham at the weekend and is expected to implement a similar approach against the Belgians as he attempts to guide Spurs to their first major trophy since 2008.

Meanwhile, Spurs have until the end of March to activate an option to play their home games at Wembley next season while work continues on their new 61,000 stadium.

The club hope to move into their new base ahead of the 2018/19 campaign but will be unable to stage fixtures at White Hart Lane while construction takes places.

Pochettino's side have struggled to produce their best form at Wembley this term and Harry Kane is determined to ensure it feels like "home" ahead of a potential temporary move to the ground.
