Tottenham will begin their Premier League campaign at home to Everton after the fixtures for the 2020-21 season were confirmed on Thursday.

Jose Mourinho's side host the Toffees at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on opening day on September 12 before games against Southampton and Newcastle precede clashes with Manchester United and West Ham.

Spurs entertain Arsenal in the first north London derby of the season on December 5 and travel to the Emirates for the return fixture on March 13.

A unique season will begin in September due to the delays of last season during the coronavirus pandemic. Fans will not be permitted to attend at first, though discussions continue over a gradual return of spectators to stadiums.

Mourinho will hope to build on a promising end to last season, which saw them earn a Europa League spot during the run-in, as he works during his first pre-season with Spurs.

Those Europa League commitments, along with a new EFL Cup schedule, has handed Mourinho and his squad a daunting opening few weeks, meaning his players will be stretched.

There remains question marks over the future of Tanguy Ndombele, though Mourinho has already moved to secure the signings of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart.
