Tottenham join Adedire Mebude transfer race as Man City contract talks stall

Tottenham have joined the race to sign highly-rated 18-year-old Adedire Mebude from Manchester City.

A skilful forward with blistering pace, Mebude has stalled on contract talks with City, opening the door for rival clubs to pounce.

Spurs are among the English clubs ready to sign the Scotland Under-19 international on a permanent deal, with Southampton and Newcastle also monitoring his situation.

There is also interest from European clubs, with PSV Eindhoven and Club Brugge keen.

Mebude, whose contract at City expires in 2024, is one of the top scorers in the Under-21s league with three goals in his first four games this season.

The London-born player operates primarily on the right but he is also capable of playing wide left.
