Tottenham leading race to sign Portuguese winger as Premier League rivals join race

Several Premier League sides have entered talks with representatives of Galatasaray star winger Bruma, a source close to the player revealed to Emre Sarigul of Yahoo and Turkish-football.com.

Tottenham are leading the race to sign the Portuguese winger but his agent will present the offers made to Galatasaray over the next few days.

Galatasaray will not sell Bruma in January but are open to selling the Portugal U21 international at the end of the season if their £20 million valuation is met.

As previously reported Tottenham have been keeping close tabs on Bruma as have several other Premier League teams.

The young winger’s current contract runs until 2018 and Galatasaray are concerned that they may end up losing Bruma for less than they value him unless a new deal is signed.

Galatasaray have delayed talks over renewing Bruma’s contract until February. The deal being proposed would see the Portuguese winger’s current €1.2 million salary double.

The Istanbul giants plan to include a release clause which matches their £20 million valuation but will only push through a deal if they can stay within budget.

The Lions were suspended from European competition this season after failing to meet Financial Fair Play regulations. As a result talks with Bruma over a contract extension have stalled. Galatasaray will only agree to a new deal if a release clause fee is included.

The former Sporting Lisbon youth product has experience playing top-tier football in Portugal, Spain and Turkey but has yet to play in the Premier League.

Bruma is happy at Galatasaray and in the best form of his career but he has revealed that he is interested in playing Premier League football.

Galatasaray are currently third in the title race and Bruma has established himself as a key first team player under the stewardship of Jan Olde Riekerink.

The 22-year-old has directly contributed to 12 goals this season – seven goals and five assists.

Bruma put on a brilliant display on Saturday, scoring a brace in Galatasaray’s 6-0 victory over Akhisar.

Only Tottenham star Dele Alli has contributed to more goals in the Premier League – 11 goals and three assists.

Bruma also has an impressive dribbling record averaging 4.9 per-game which is the highest in Europe – top five leagues.
