Tottenham ensured their place in the Europa Conference League group stage as a welcome Harry Kane brace helped them overturn a first-leg deficit against Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira.

On his first start since announcing that he will stay with Tottenham beyond the end of the transfer window, Kane opened the scoring after just nine minutes.

The captain for the night doubled the lead here in north London and overturned the deficit shortly before the break when moving free of a scramble in the box and slotting home his second.

Giovani Lo Celso put the result beyond doubt with a crafty free-kick from a tight angle in the second-half, his inswinging effort flicking in off the head of Pacos defender Antunes.

Here is how Jack Rosser rated Spurs...

Pierluigi Gollini 6

Dealt with the very little which came his way well, a sloppy moment in conceding a corner aside.

Matt Doherty 6

Solid enough, offered a bit going forward but could have done better. Encouraging to see him look more comfortable in a back four.

Cristian Romero 7

Looks to be finding his feet. Solid at the back and confident stepping up and affecting the game further forward.

Eric Dier 6

Had very little to do but did it well when called upon. Organised the back four throughout.

Ben Davies 6

Covered for Sessegnon well but offered precious little going forward.

Harry Winks 7

Set the tone early on with a snapping sliding challenge to win the ball back for the opening goal.

Giovani Lo Celso 7

Kept Spurs moving quickly in midfield, won some smart fouls and grabbed a goal with a crafty free-kick.

Bryan Gil 7

Rough around the edges but a very exciting talent always looking to get on the front foot. Good assist for Kane’s first.

Lucas Moura 6

Plenty of energy and invention throughout but just lacked the cutting edge.

Ryan Sessegnon 5

Worked hard to make an impact down the left hand side but to little avail.

The perfect night as he looks to work his way back into the hearts of Spurs fans. Worked hard to make his mark and claimed two goals.

Substitutes

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg 6

Added some stability to the Spurs midfield once the lead was secured and allowed Lo Celso to get going forward more.
