Tottenham shirt numbers available to Lucas Bergvall after Archie Gray decision for 2024/25 season

Lucas Bergvall will soon link up with his new Tottenham teammates for the very first time. Ange Postecoglou's squad are expected to begin to start filtering back to the club's Hotspur Way training base from Saturday, July 6 onwards for pre-season work.

Players will return at various points due to a few having international commitments at the beginning of June, with some still involved at either Euro 2024 or the Copa America and not due to return until later in the pre-season campaign. Bergvall's first day at Hotspur Way has been a long time coming, especially after officially signing for the club at the start of February on a contract until the summer of 2029.

Fellow new arrival Archie Gray will also meet the rest of the Spurs squad for the first time later this week after completing his move from Leeds United on Tuesday morning. The versatile player has signed a long-term contract in north London until the end of the 2029/30 campaign.

Following the confirmation of the 18-year-old's transfer to Tottenham, the club also revealed that the player has taken on the No.14 shirt for the 2024/25 campaign. Gray inherits the number from Ivan Perisic, who departed Spurs to rejoin Hajduk Split initially on a loan deal back in January.

Whereas Gray's squad number is confirmed ahead of the new term, Tottenham supporters are still waiting to find out what number Bergvall will be wearing. The teenager did wear No.21 at Djurgarden but that number is currently occupied by fellow countryman Dejan Kulusevski.

So what are the vacant shirt numbers as things stand and what could soon become available as Bergvall makes his pick? football.london takes a look below.

Available

No.1 - Certainly not a number for Bergvall, the No.1 shirt is now available after Hugo Lloris' move to LAFC

No.19 - Ryan Sessegnon's departure means that No.19 is up for grabs. Bergvall has previously worn the number on Sweden Under-21 duty.

No.25 - No.25 has become available after Japhet Tanganga bid farewell to Tottenham at the end of his contract.

No.26 - No.26 appears to be retired in all-but-name with no player wearing the number since Ledley King called time on his career 12 years ago.

No.28 - The shirt is now vacant after Tanguy Ndombele's time at the club finally came to an end.

Other vacant numbers (1-40): 31, 32, 34 and 39.

The shirts that could soon become available

No.3 - Sergio Reguilon was allowed to depart on loan last season as he was not in Postecoglou's plans and another exit looks likely.

No.4 - There are question marks over Oliver Skipp heading into the new season with so many options ahead of him in the midfield pecking order at Tottenham.

No.5 - Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will very likely depart this summer to get regular first-team football elsewhere.

No.11 - Bryan Gil needs to depart for the sake of his career this summer with the Spaniard just not getting the consistent minutes he requires in north London.

No.12 - AC Milan have been heavily linked with a move for Emerson Royal this summer and a transfer away from Tottenham may well come to fruition.

No.18 - Giovani Lo Celso is another player who also needs to head off due to having a bit-part role under Postecoglou at Tottenham.

No.24 - Djed Spence is not in Postecoglou's long-term thinking and Spurs shouldn't be short on options for the right-sided player after a good loan spell in Italy with Genoa.

No.27 - Manor Solomon's future is up in the air after barely featuring for the Lilywhites last season due to injury.
