Vincent Janssen will remain at White Hart Lane despite a difficult start to his Tottenham career.

Janssen’s representative Louis Laros has told Yahoo Sport and turkishfootball.com’s Emre Sarigul the 22-year-old will stay at Tottenham this season after reports had emerged linking his client with a move abroad.

Laros confirmed that numerous clubs have expressed an interest in the Netherlands international over recent weeks, however he reiterated that Janssen will remain at the North London club.

“A lot of clubs are interested in Janssen however, there will be no transfer or loan, he will stay for sure at Spurs,” he said.

Laros went onto state that Janssen is determined to fight his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up.

The Dutch striker has found first team opportunities hard to come with Harry Kane and Dele Alli in great form.

“Jassen is fighting to get back in the team. We are not worried and are 100 percent sure that he will stay at Spurs until at least the end of the season,” he added.

Janssen’s agent also revealed that Pochettino has not lost faith in the striker, despite leaving him out of the match day squad for Spurs’ previous two Premier League matches against Chelsea and West Brom.

Laros underlined that Pochettino has confidence in the striker and that he will not allow him to leave over the winter transfer window.

“Pochettino is confident in Janssen’s ability and wants him to stay at the season,” he added.

Janssen joined the Premier League outfit amid high expectations when he was signed for £17 million over the summer transfer window.

However, the Netherlands international has found goals difficult to come by this season, only scoring once in 15 Premier League appearances for Tottenham.

The 22-year-old’s only Premier League goal came against Leicester City from the penalty spot in October 2016.

Janssen joined Spurs as one of the brightest talents in the Dutch top-tier after a brilliant season with AZ Alkmaar.

The young striker was in prolific form for AZ scoring 27 goals in 35 Eredivisie appearances last season.

It remains to be seen whether Pochettino will recall Janssen to Tottenham’s squad ahead of their clash with Manchester City this weekend.

Kane is currently Spurs first-choice striker however, Pochettino does lack depth in this position and Janssen is his only backup.
