Tottenham vs OGC Nice LIVE!

Spurs tonight completed their preparations for the second half of the season with a 1-1 draw with Nice at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for their final friendly. Matt Doherty opened the scoring midway through the first half with a fine finish inside the area, before Antoine Mendy levelled the scores just 90 seconds into the second half.

With the likes of Harry Kane and Richarlison watching on from the sidelines and not involved after their recent World Cup exploits, it meant the likes of Harvey White and Pape Matar Sarr were afforded the chance to stake a claim. It was the senior stars who were the most lively, with Doherty scoring his fourth goal in three friendlies and Dejan Kulusevski acting as creator-in-chief for Bryan Gil, Emerson Royal and others.

Heung-min Son came off the bench in a boost for Antonio Conte after illness. Spurs return to Premier League action next week, on Boxing Day, at Brentford. You can follow the game back below with our dedicated match blog.

Antonio Conte has explained why Oliver Skipp and Djed Spence are not part of the tonight’s matchday squad.

“For us, this could be a good game, but I have to be honest, we have some problems with some players, [Heung-min] Sonny, in the last two days, didn’t have a training session because of a fever, the same with Skippy and Spence,” explained the Italian on Tuesday.

“I hope to recover Skippy for tomorrow, but today he didn’t train because he has a fever.

“It will be a good opportunity to see some young players and to give space, to give time to players who previously didn’t play a lot, like Bryan Gil, Harvey White, also Pape Sarr.

“It was good to have time to recover Ryan Sessegnon, he’s still not 100 per cent, but now he’s ready.”

"Ben Davies is okay and started to work with us last week. He has recovered," the Italian told SPURSPLAY. "Rodrigo [Bentancur] has started to work. I think that he’s going to be good for the game against Aston Villa.

"For Richy [Richarlison], tomorrow he’s going to have an MRI (scan) to know very well the importance of the injury. After tomorrow we will see very well the time he needs to recover."

“Hugo lost the final and, instead, Cuti [Romero] won the final,” said Spurs boss Antonio Conte earlier.

“For Harry, he missed a penalty, but I think he played a really good World Cup. For sure, they have to try and put to one side this experience.”

Ben Davies could be fit having overcome a stomach muscle issue while Rodrigo Bentancur (thigh) and Richarlison (hamstring) will both miss out.

However, a stomach bug outbreak has hit several members of the squad with Oliver Skipp, Heung-min Son and Djed Spence set to miss out.

Hugo Lloris, Ivan Perisic and Cristian Romero will also miss out while finishing off their participation at the World Cup.

Harry Kane and the rest of Spurs’ World Cup stars are not expected to be available for many minutes, if any.
