Town loan star wins award at League One club

Ipswich Town loanee Idris El Mizouni has won the Leyton Orient Supporters Club Merit Award for the 2023/24 season.

The 23-year-old made 45 appearances and scored two goals in his second loan stint at Brisbane Road, but his season was ended with five games to go when he suffered an MCL injury in late March.

 

 

He has played a starring role for Richie Wellens; side over the last 18 months, helping them secure the League Two title last campaign.

El Mizouni has worn the captain's armband on multiple occasions as Orient finished 11th in the League One this term in an impressive first season back in the third tier.

In total, he has played 89 games, scoring five goals, during his two spells in East London.

He was named Players’ and Manager’s Player of the Year in the 2022/23 season and was included in the EFL League Two Team of the Season during that campaign.

The Tunisian midfielder's contract at Town is due to expire this summer, but the Blues have an option for a further season.
