Transfer news LIVE!

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all keen on making further signings during the final days of the summer window. Spurs are ready to pounce. Fofana’s arrival at Chelsea could force Trevoh Chalobah out and Antonio Conte is considering a shock move for the defender, who is also attracting interest from Roma and Inter Milan. Ruslan Malinovskyi is also of interest. Follow all of the latest news, gossip and rumours via our live transfer blog below!

With Arsenal waiting to get unwanted players off the wage bill before making further signings, a loan move for Pepe could be a major boost in enabling them to target a winger in the next couple of weeks.

Rivaldo: Gabriel Jesus could become Arsenal’s best signing in years

Friday 19 August 2022 11:02 , Jonathan Gorrie

Gabriel Jesus continues to delight in Arsenal colours, with the forward now off the mark in the Premier League.

Speaking to Betfair, Brazilian legend Rivaldo has hailed the former Manchester City striker as the Gunners’ best signing in years.

“Gabriel Jesus is already paying for his transfer fee at Arsenal with such a prolific performance against Leicester following his move from Man City in the summer.

“He might become one of the best signings for the club for many years.

“He’s a great player who is completely adapted to the Premier League and he is in a fantastic stage of his career to develop into a big star.

“He didn’t play so often at Man City because the club has so many good options in all positions and Pep Guardiola didn’t see him as a regular starter in his time there.

“Even though, he learned a lot and grabbed a lot of experience in English football that will help a lot to create an immediate impact in his new club.

“I believe Jesus has all the qualities to have a great season in his first year at the club and also consolidate his position as a starter for the Brazilian national team.”
