Transfer news LIVE!
The deadline for the summer transfer window is fast approaching as clubs run out of time to complete deals before 11pm on Friday night. Chief among which are Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham, with Arsenal also keeping a keen eye on any late developments.

He has now completed a medical. Arsenal are said to have their eye on Benfica full-back Alexander Bah and Barcelona’s Eric Garcia, while Manchester United have had Sofyan Amrabat rejected but are set to secure the loan signing of Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham.
Liverpool have now reached an agreement with Bayern Munich over Ryan Gravenberch. One of the biggest remaining deals could come with Tottenham’s £50m move for Brennan Johnson as Spurs also weigh up an offer for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, having missed out on Ansu Fati to Brighton. Spurs prepare Johnson bid but Gallagher move hinges on Hojbjerg
12:16 , George Flood
Tottenham will focus on a deal for Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson after being beaten by Brighton to the signing of Barcelona’s Ansu Fati on loan, writes Dan Kilpatrick.
Forest value Johnson, 22, at £50million and have already rejected three bids from Brentford for the Wales international, the last believed to be worth £43m.
Spurs had proposed players in part-exchange for Johnson during talks and are poised to table a bid, amid hope that Forest’s negotiating position could soften as tomorrow’s 11pm transfer deadline approaches.
Spurs were in talks with Barcelona over a straight loan for Fati, 20, but the winger agreed to join Brighton for the rest of the season, and is set to undergo a medical on Thursday.
Spurs are interested in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher but a move for the England international is dependent on offloading Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg before the deadline.

Palmer, who was a key player for England in their European Under-21 title win this summer, has agreed a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge and is due to be unveiled on Thursday.
Chelsea have moved for Palmer after a deal for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise fell through. They considered moves for Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe and Barcelona’s Ansu Fati, but have swooped for Palmer and thrashed out a deal with City.

Tottenham have rejected a loan bid from Burnley for Eric Dier.
The newly-promoted Clarets and Vincent Kompany wanted to boost their defensive options by taking the England centre-back to Turf Moor for the remainder of the season.
However, their offer was dismissed by Spurs, according to The Athletic, who point out that the club would only loan out a player in Dier’s situation if he agreed an extension to a contract that expires next summer.
It remains to be seen if the 29-year-old could be sold on a permanent deal before tomorrow night’s transfer deadline, amid apparent interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

The Athletic claim City have struck a £53m agreement over the 25-year-old, with no add-ons but a 10 per cent sell-on clause included in the deal. Nunes will now travel to Manchester for a medical.
Former England Under-21 international Tommy Doyle is also joining Wolves from City on a season-long loan in a separate deal said to include a £5m option to buy.
Tottenham ponder Conor Gallagher bid
09:34 , George Flood
Tottenham are said to be considering making an offer for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher before the transfer deadline.
Spurs remain actively hunting for new recruits to boost Ange Postecoglou’s squad after the summer additions of James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Manor Solomon, Alejo Veliz and Ashley Phillips.
Amid ongoing talks with Nottingham Forest over Brennan Johnson, the Daily Telegraph now report that Tottenham are again seriously weighing up a bid for Gallagher.
It is thought that Cole Palmer’s imminent £45m move from Manchester City to Stamford Bridge could see Chelsea allow his fellow English midfielder to depart.
Spurs have been strongly linked with Gallagher already this summer, along with the likes of West Ham and others.

Another update now on Liverpool’s pursuit of Ryan Gravenberch.
Reports claim that the Reds are locked in talks with Bayern Munich over a late summer deal for the Netherlands midfielder.
According to Christian Falk of German publication Bild, Bayern are now expecting Liverpool to table an official offer for Gravenberch worth €30m (£25.7m).

He will compete with Sam Johnstone for the No1 spot under Roy Hodgson.
Man United set to clinch Cucurella deal with Chelsea
08:34 , George Flood
Manchester United could complete the signing of Marc Cucurella today.
The Chelsea defender has emerged as Erik ten Hag’s preferred option as he seeks an emergency late solution to his left-back crisis following injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
Spanish outlet Marca report that negotiations between United and Chelsea have now accelerated, with an agreement said to be imminent.
It is expected that the Red Devils will pay around £3m to take Cucurella - who started and played 90 minutes against AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup last night in his first competitive appearance under Mauricio Pochettino - on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
Liverpool braced for £118m Mo Salah bid
08:17 , George Flood
The Mo Salah to Saudi Arabia rumours are just not subsiding. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Al-Ittihad seemingly remain determined to make yet another major transfer splash to follow the signings of the likes of Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Fabinho and Jota already this summer.
The Daily Mail report that they are now ready to launch a huge £118m bid for Salah, hoping to convince Liverpool to change their resolute stance that their Egyptian superstar is simply not for sale at any price.
However, they also claim that Jurgen Klopp would be understandably furious if the Reds did now suddenly decide to cash in on their top talent at such a late, late stage of the window.
Tottenham consider Eze as Johnson alternative
07:39 , George Flood
Tottenham could be eyeing Eberechi Eze as a potential alternative to Brennan Johnson.
Spurs have made Johnson their top priority before tomorrow night’s transfer deadline, but reports suggest they are struggling to agree a fee with Nottingham Forest for the Welsh international.
The Independent claim that Tottenham are considering Eze as a possible alternative, having seemingly missed out to Brighton on a loan deal for Barcelona’s Ansu Fati.
However, it is said that the England winger is likely to be too expensive an option at this stage of the window, with Crystal Palace likely to demand well in excess of £60m having already lost Wilfried Zaha this summer and also seen off Chelsea’s pursuit of Michael Olise.
Man United fail with Sofyan Amrabat bid
07:24 , George Flood
Manchester United are reportedly working on a late deal for Sofyan Amrabat.
The Morocco international has been of interest to Erik ten Hag throughout the summer window as he strengthens his squad at Old Trafford.
However, deals for the likes of Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund have clearly taken priority, leaving injury-hit United striving to get the late signing of Amrabat over the line.
The 27-year-old will not play for Fiorentina in their Europa Conference League play-off tie against Rapid Vienna tonight as he looks to seal a long-awaited move to Manchester.
Talks are said to be continuing between the two clubs, though The Athletic reported last night that United - wary of Financial Fair Play limitations - had seen a loan offer featuring two €1m instalments and a January break clause rejected.
Fiorentina are said to want a permanent sale worth around €35m, although could be open to a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy.
Liverpool locked in talks over Ryan Gravenberch deal
07:08 , George Flood
Liverpool are locked in talks with Bayern Munich over a move for Ryan Gravenberch, reports suggest.
The Dutch international has been on Jurgen Klopp’s transfer radar all summer as part of a planned midfield overhaul at Anfield that hasn’t quite gone to plan after missing out on the likes of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea, despite signing Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Gravenberch appears to have become Liverpool’s main focus before tomorrow night’s deadline, with The Athletic reporting that they are in discussions over a permanent deal.
It is thought the Reds could submit an official offer soon for a player also linked with Manchester United, with Bayern apparently needing to seek a replacement before allowing the 21-year-old - who only joined from Ajax last summer - to leave.
Others say that Bayern will use the money received from the sale of Gravenberch to sign Fulham star Joao Palhinha.
Arsenal eye late move for Alexander Bah
06:49 , George Flood
A new Arsenal target is emerging with just two days remaining in the transfer window.
The Gunners were expected to be quiet in terms of potential incomings before the deadline, with the main focus on trimming Mikel Arteta’s large squad after getting the bulk of their business done early in the summer.
But links to former Manchester City defender Eric Garcia, now at Barcelona, continue, while they are also now being linked with Alexander Bah.
Danish publication Tipsbladet claims that Arsenal are in the race for the Benfica defender, who could be available for between £26m-£30m as the Gunners apparently seek additional full-back cover following the serious knee injury sustained by new signing Jurrien Timber on his Premier League debut that could see him miss the entire season.
Brighton beat Tottenham to Ansu Fati deal
06:35 , George Flood
In case you missed it late last night, Ansu Fati is indeed coming to the Premier League - but not to one of the clubs you might expect.
Tottenham had apparently been in talks with Barcelona over a possible loan deal for the Spain starlet as they struggle to agree terms with Nottingham Forest over a blockbuster late switch for Wales forward Brennan Johnson.
However, it is Brighton who have swooped in to seal a deal for Fati according to widespread reports.
The 20-year-old will head to the Amex Stadium on a loan move until June 2024, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that there is no option to buy included in the deal and that Brighton will cover a large portion of the player’s salary.
Fati will arrive in England for a medical on Thursday, with Seagulls boss Roberto De Zerbi said to have been crucial in negotiations.
What a coup for Brighton.

Balogun joined the Gunners aged 10 and developed through the club’s academy before signing a first professional contract in February 2019 and made his senior debut in the Europa League the following year.
More on Chelsea’s Palmer deal
Wednesday 30 August 2023 18:45 , Alex Young
Chelsea have agreed a £40million, plus £5m in add-ons, deal for Manchester City winger Cole Palmer.
The 21-year-old has already accepted a move to Stamford Bridge. Personal terms are expected to be a formality and a medical is now being scheduled.

Ocampos is reluctant having grown settled in Spain and will soon have the chance to play Champions League football after winning the Europa League in May.
Fulham believe they will ultimately get their man having switched their focus from Callum Hudson-Odoi after they failed to agree a fee with Chelsea.

Spurs are also looking to offload Sergio Reguilon, Tanguy Ndombele, Hugo Lloris and Japhet Tanganga. Manchester United have been offered the chance to bid for Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who previously worked with Erik ten Hag when the Dutchman was in charge of Bayern Munich's B team.

Transfer coup Kudus opens door to a wealth of options for West Ham
Tuesday 29 August 2023 12:03 , Alex Young
Fewer than four weeks ago, West Ham were creeping perilously towards the new season, shorn of their best player, yet to buy a single one in his stead and with fears last year's relegation scrap might be in danger of a repeat.
It is fair to say, then, that the mood in east London has transformed quite markedly, David Moyes's side off to a flying start in the Premier League having spent Saturday night atop its early table, and now with a midfield rebuild for the post-Declan Rice age complete.
James Ward-Prowse already looks every bit the no-brainer signing for this team that Moyes thought him long ago, while the early signs are that Edson Alvarez has the tools for a swift adaptation to English football. In Mohammed Kudus, the Hammers have now added a player of genuine X-factor as well.
After scoring 18 times for Ajax last season, Kudus was heavily linked with other clubs this summer, including Arsenal, while Brighton went further in coming close to sealing a deal (interest from the country's shrewdest recruitment team is usually a decent sign).
