Must-haves

Defenders

Arsenal have won four of their last five league games and will be backing themselves to keep a cleansheet at home to already-relegated Sunderland. With the Gunners likely to employ Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin as wingbacks there should also be good potential for attacking returns as well. Teammate Rob Holding could also get another start in the back three and at £14 he could be a decent cheaper option. With Man City hosting a West Brom side who haven’t scored a goal in six of their last seven games, at £14 Vincent Kompany and John Stones (assuming he passes his fitness test) should both play the 90 minutes against the Baggies.

Midfielders

As can often be the case for Tony Pulis-managed sides, the Baggies look to have clocked off since reaching the fabled 40-point mark. As such David Silva, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling will be licking their lips at the prospect of getting their teeth into West Brom’s defence. Mesut Ozil has a goal and an assist in his past 2 matches and with Sunderland’s injury-hit squad travelling to the Emirates, the Black Cats could be ripe for a mauling.

Forwards

Olivier Giroud was given the nod over Danny Welbeck against Stoke on Saturday and responded with two goals; with Sunderland guaranteed to sit deep tonight, expect him to start again. Sergio Aguero/Gabriel Jesus. Jesus started against Leicester but largely struggled apart from his penalty, while Aguero continued his injury comeback from the bench – and scored negative points. It’s tough to say who will get the nod (it could even be both) so my advice? Wait until 7pm tonight, see who is starting and then pick the starter. With Alexis Sanchez 50/50 for tonight’s game it would be wise to do the same thing for Arsenal’s star man.

Must-nots

Defenders

If all of our must-have players were from Arsenal and Man City, most of our must-not players are from Sunderland and West Brom. For that reason, Black Cats defenders John O’Shea and Billy Jones (despite scoring against Hull) should be avoided at all costs. For West Brom, Gareth McAuley has been ruled out of tonight’s match and Fantasy owners may wish that teammates Jonny Evans and Nyom would also be ruled out.

Midfielders

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss tonight’s match, while teammate Francis Coquelin is unlikely to have much impact tonight. Just avoid all Sunderland midfielder as none of them are likely to bring home many Fantasy points – unless you’re looking for a cheap alternative option to free up cash for a big-name (I mean big) player. Nacer Chadli has been up and down for West Brom recently but with a tough match against Man City, expect him to turn in another ‘down’ performance. Darren Fletcher and James Morrison are also both unlikely to trouble the Fantasy scorers.

Forwards

Danny Welbeck is still continuing his comeback to full match fitness and unless he’s starting tonight, Welbeck’s massively over-priced at £21. Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe only has 1 goal in his last 8 games and that is unlikely to change at Arsenal. West Brom haven’t scored in 6 of their last 7 games and Salomon Rondon has only scored 1 goal in 2017. Avoid. Hal Robson-Kanu has also struggled to score and with the Welsh striker unlikely to even play due to injury, he should be avoided at all costs.
