The UFC is bringing out the big guns for its next season of The Ultimate Fighter, as company president Dana White on Sunday announced that Conor McGregor and Urijah Faber would coach the twenty-second season of the venerable reality show.

The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber will feature 16 lightweight fighters. McGregor will lead a team of eight fighters from Europe, while Faber’s eight will be composed of fighters from the United States.

“There will be 16 lightweights. There will be eight from United States and eight from Europe,” said White.

“The coach from the United States will be Urijah Faber, and the coach from Europe will be Conor McGregor. (But) just to let everybody know, he will not fight Urijah Faber. These guys are just coaching, mentoring the young fighters.”

In his next fight, McGregor is likely to either unite his interim title with Jose Aldo’s featherweight championship or defend against someone like Frankie Edgar, who has already said he'd like to jump the line and fight McGregor if Aldo is going to be sidelined for any amount of time.
