Tunisia had a strange AFCON this year, only qualifying as a best-third-place team after beating Mauritania but then knocking out Nigeria before quarter-final loss to Burkina Faso.

England needed a late winner to beat them in Russia but look the weakest African team in Qatar.

Here’s everything you need to know about Tunisia…

Coach: Jalel Kadri. Assistant who promoted during AFCON after Covid struck his senior, then got the job full-time after the tournament.

Captain: Youssef Mskani. Forward who plays his club football on loan at Qatari side Al-Arabi.

Star player: Wahbi Khazri. The former Sunderland man is country’s second highest scorer of all-time.

One to watch: Hannibal Mejbri. The Manchester United midfielder is now playing regular football on loan at Birmingham.

Odds to win: 500/1

World ranking: 30th

Best thing about them: Not many teams reach a World Cup thanks to an own-goal in a 1-0 aggregate win across 180 minutes of football. Efficient.

Worst thing about them: Never gone beyond the group stage in five attempts and now handed a tough draw.
