Two Watford matches moved for TV before end of September

Watford appear to have got off lightly following the announcement of the games chosen by Sky Sports for live broadcast up to the end of September.

Only two of the Hornets games in the first month of the season have been moved from the slots given when the fixtures were released a week ago – and both of them are away games.

The Hornets will now travel to face their former head coach Chris Wilder and his Sheffield United team on Sunday, September 1, with a 3pm kick-off, and will be shown live on Sky Sports Football.

And the game at Norwich City stays on Saturday, September 21, but moves forward to 12.30pm and will be broadcast on the new Sky Sports+ channel.

Other clubs have had more of their matches altered, either in terms of date or kick-off time.

Luton have had four games moved in the first two months, and now face an away trip to Plymouth on a Friday night with an 8pm kick-off.

There are three changes for Sheffield Wednesday, whose fans must now travel to Sunderland for a midday kick-off on a Sunday.

Middlesbrough have seen three away games switched – their trip to neighbours Sunderland is one of them, but they also have to play at 12.30pm on Saturdays at Derby and Cardiff.

After the opening weekend, there will be a Championship game shown each Friday night, three on a Saturday at 12.30pm and then one game on a Sunday.

The EFL have committed to announce all live games up until mid-January before the season starts on August 10.
