Tyron Woodley Broke Foot in First Round at UFC 183
Tyron Woodley handed Kelvin Gastelum his first career loss in the UFC 183: Silva vs. Diaz co-main event on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Having built a reputation for knocking opponents out, Woodley was heavily scrutinized following the fight for it going the distance. He didn't make any excuses after the fight, but on Tuesday revealed what one major hinderance to scoring a knockout was: he had a broken foot.

The No. 3 ranked welterweight revealed that he suffered a broken foot in the opening round of the fight. Woodley posted a photo of an x-ray to his instagram account that showed several breaks.

The 32-year-old continued fighting for two more rounds with the injured foot, earning a split decision win.
It was unclear at the time of publication how long Woodley expects to be sidelined from the injury.
