Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua to get green light this week as broadcaster talks continue

Tyson Fury’s heavyweight clash with Anthony Joshua looks set to get the green light later this week if Joshua’s camp miss Monday’s deadline.

In the wake of Joe Joyce’s win over Joseph Parker, Fury said he would walk away from the all-British clash if Joshua’s camp failed to sign a contract today.

Joshua’s promoter called the threat “ridiculous”, while the boxer himself allayed fears he might walk away, saying: “Of course I’m going to sign.”

Terms look set to be finalised this week. A 60-40 split has been agreed in Fury’s favour, with a rematch should Fury lose which has a 50-50 split.

The stumbling block is the TV deal as Fury is contracted to BT while Joshua has an agreement with DAZN.

Joshua added in a social media clip posted on the weekend: “It ain’t in my hands, it is with the legal team, that’s why you hire lawyers. You know the history of boxing, make sure you get your legal terms right.

“That’s why you have got good management and good lawyers, to make sure you’ve got your business right. Of course I’m going to sign the contract, it’s just with some lawyers at the minute.”
