Uefa bans Ajax, Eintracht Frankfurt fans from attending Chelsea and Arsenal European matches in London

Chelsea's Champions League opponents Ajax have been banned by Uefa from selling tickets to their supporters for their trip to Stamford Bridge next month.

Likewise, Eintracht Frankfurt have been banned from selling tickets to their fans for the Europa League clash against Arsenal in north London on November 8.

Chelsea and Ajax meet for the first time on Wednesday 23 October in their European clash at the Johan Cruyff Arena, before the return fixture in west London on November 5.

But the Eredivisie outfit will not be allowed to sell any away tickets to their fans for the game after they were found to have breached Uefa's disciplinary regulations.

Additionally, the Dutch champions have been fined €50,000 by Uefa's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body after the crowd trouble against Valencia triggered a suspended sentence imposed on them following their clash with Benfica last season.

The ruling stated that there were three breaches in total for "acts of damages, crowd disturbances and improper conduct of team."

Ajax must also repay Valencia to settle the damages after the incidents at the Mestalla and received a €18,000 fine for the team improper conduct charge.

The club confirmed in a brief statement that they will ask for "additional information from Uefa" before deciding whether to appeal.

Erik ten Hag's side, who reached the semi-finals in last season's competition, are currently top of Group H after taking six points from their first two games.

But the news of their fans' absence could provide a psychological boost for Frank Lampard's Chelsea players, who are second after bouncing back from their opening game defeat to Valencia with a 2-1 win over Lille.
