UFC 161 Filling Up Fast; Roland Delorme vs. Edwin Figueroa Latest Addition

TUF Alums Myles Jury and Mike Ricci Square Off at UFC 165 in Toronto

UFC officials on Wednesday announced a bantamweight bout between Roland Delorme and Edwin Figueroa for UFC 161 on June 15 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

For Delorme (8-1 / 1 no contest), who fights out of Winnipeg, this is a hometown bout.

Delorme won his first two bouts in the Octagon – over Josh Ferguson and Nick Denis – before running into a brick wall named Francisco Rivera. Rivera knocked Delorme out at UFC 149 in Calgary last July, but then tested positive for a banned substance that he tweeted was due to an over-the-counter supplement called 1MR. The bout was subsequently ruled a no contest.

Figueroa (9-2) was on a two-fight run, defeating Jason Reinhardt and Alex Caceres, before he ran into Rivera.

Rivera stopped Figueroa via TKO at UFC 156 on Super Bowl weekend, forcing Figueroa back to the drawing board.

Delorme had his loss overturned, but both he and Figueroa have something to prove when they square off at UFC 161, which is headlined by interim UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barão putting his belt on the line against Eddie Wineland.
