UFC 196 Medical Suspensions: Conor McGregor and Holly Holm Cleared
Featherweight champion Conor McGregor suffered his first UFC loss at UFC 196 on Saturday when he was tapped out by lightweight contender Nate Diaz in a welterweight match-up.
Former Strikeforce women's bantamweight titleholder Miesha Tate ended Holly Holm‘s unbeaten streak and took the UFC women's 135-pound belt. None of the four fighters who headlined the fight card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas suffered any serious injuries.
McGregeor, Tate, and Holm did not receive any medical suspension while Diaz was given a minimal one.
The Nevada Athletic Commission released the UFC 196: McGregor vs. Diaz medical suspensions to MMAWeekly.com on Monday. The event took place on Saturday, March 5, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
UFC 196: McGregor vs. Daiz Medial Suspensions
Nate Diaz: Suspended until April 20 with no contact before April 5 due to laceration over his right eye.
Ilir Latifi: Must have x-ray of the second toe on his left foot cleared by a doctor or faces a suspension until Sept. 5.
Valentina Shevchenko: Suspended until April 5 with no contact until March 27 due to left eye laceration.
Siyar Bahadurzada: Must have his jaw cleared by a doctor, or face a six-month suspension. He recieveved a minimum suspension until March 27 with no contact until March 20.
Brandon Thatch: Must have his left foot x-rayed or a MRI done and cleared by a doctor. He faces a suspension until Sept. 5, and received a minimum suspension until April 20 with no contact until April 5.
Nordine Taleb: Must have left knee x-rayed or an MRI done and be cleared by a doctor or face a suspension until Sept. 5.
Erick Silva: Suspended until April 20 with no contact until April 5.
Marcelo Guimaraes: Must have left knee x-rayed or an MRI and be cleared by a doctor or faces a suspension until Sept. 5. He received a minimum suspension until April 20 with no contact until April 5.
Chas Skelly: Suspended until April 20 with no contact until Arpil 5.
Justin Salas: Suspended until April 5 with no contact until March 27 due to laceration under right eye.
Julian Erosa: Suspended until April 20 with no contact until April 5.
