UFC 202 Results: Donald Cerrone Picture Perfect in TKO of Rick Story
Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone kept his welterweight streak alive at UFC 202: Diaz vs. McGregor 2 on Saturday night in Las Vegas, taking out Rick Story in the second round.
Cerrone has looked better than ever since moving up to 170 pounds, and that only continued in the fight with Story.
The opening round started quickly with both men surging to the center of the Octagon. Cerrone made the first significant move of the fight, taking Story to the canvas, although he was unable to control him for long on the canvas.

They returned to their feet, clinched on the fence, but Story decided to take the fight down. Cerrone nearly caught him in a triangle choke, but Story fought out of it and landed a few right hands and knees before Cerrone burst back to his feet.
The round closed out with some good striking exchanges.
Round two is where it all came together for Cerrone. He attacked with jabs and leg kicks, taking Story off his game, and backing him up.
A couple minutes into the second frame, Cerrone put together a beautiful three-punch body-head-body combination that was followed with a kick to the face that sent Story reeling. Knowing Story was badly hurt, Cerrone stormed him, dropping him to the canvas with an uppercut, and finished the fight in a flurry of punches.
Asked about his success at welterweight, Cerrone simply said, “It must have been because Dana let me ride my Harley Davidson all week.”
He surprised interviewer Joe Rogan, and probably everyone else, by saying he wasn’t content to stay at welterweight, instead, calling out current lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.
“I got a thing I got to do at 155,” he declared. “Eddie Alvarez has something that belongs to me. Let’s do it. How about Madison Square Garden, UFC 205?”
Although Cerrone’s last fight at lightweight was a loss to then-champion Rafael dos Anjos, he holds a victory over Alvarez at 155 pounds, so the callout may not have been as far fetched as it might seem on the surface.
