UFC Cancels Fairfax Fight Between Barnatt and Hester Following Injury

The UFC Fight Night 63: Mendes vs. Lamas event slated for April 4 in Fairfax, Va., will go on as planned, but it will continue minus one bout.

UFC officials on Friday announced that a middleweight bout between Luke Barnatt and Clint Hester has been dropped from the card and will not be replaced. The fight card will continue with 10 bouts.

Hester was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a broken foot, according to the UFC. Officials were unable to find a suitable replacement, so the bout was scrapped.

UFC Fight Night 63 takes place on the April 4 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax. It features a headlining bout between top featherweight contenders Chad Mendes and Ricardo Lamas.

UFC Fight Night 63 will air on FOX Sports 1 in the U.S. at a special start time of 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT for the six-bout main card. The prelims now start at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT, also on FOX Sports 1.
