UFC Fight Night 83 Fighter Bonuses: Chris Camozzi's Quick Finish Leads the Way

UFC Fight Night 83: Cowboy vs. Cowboy took place on Sunday night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Following the event, UFC officials handled out the customary post-fight awards, which are each accompanied by a $50,000 bonus.

Chris Camozzi is only three fights into his second tour of duty with the UFC, but he's making the most of it. He especially made the most of the opportunity against Joe Riggs. Camozzi rocked him early with a punch and then clinched and drove home several knees to the head until the fight was stopped 27 seconds into the fight.

“I've always had good knees. Knees and elbows are two of my favorite things,” Camozzi remarked at the post-fight press conference.

The finish was enough to earn Camozzi one of the two Performance of the Night awards and a $50,000 bonus check.

The other Performance of the Night award went to main event winner Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, who overcame some early adversity to turn the tables and score a first-round triangle submission victory over Alex Oliveira. It was Cerrone's first UFC fight at welterweight, but his thirtieth fight for Zuffa when combining UFC and WEC bouts.

The Fight of the Night honors went to one of the three UFC Fight Pass early preliminary bouts.

Try as she might, Lauren Murphy had a difficult time putting UFC newcomer Kelly Faszholz away, but finally did it with 5 seconds left in the fight. It was Faszholz's first professional loss, but she fought well enough in her Octagon debut that she and Murphy each went home with a $50,000 bonus check for the Fight of the Night award.
