UFC Nashville Fighter Bonuses: Main Eventers Take Home Fight of the Night

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the winners of the $50,000 fighter bonuses stemming from the UFC Fight Night: Teixeira vs. Saint Preux fight card following the event in Nashville on Saturday. Glover Teixeira, Ovince Saint Preux, Marlon Vera and Amanda Nunes banked the added income.

Fight of the Night honors went to the main event fighters, Teixeira and Saint Preux, for their back-and-forth light heavyweight battle. Saint Preux had Teixeira hurt in the early going, but Teixeira relied on his wrestling ability to ground and pound his opponent. He secured a submission finish in the third frame with a rear-naked choke.

Nunes earned a Performance of the Night bonus for her first-round finish of Olympic Silver Medalist Sara McMann. Nunes hurt McMann with a combination and finished the 34-year-old with a rear-naked choke midway through the opening frame.

The second Performance of the Night award went to Vera for his second-round submission of Roman Salazar on the preliminary card. After being taken down, Vera applied a triangle choke and delivered elbows. He quickly transitioned to an armbar that forced Salazar to tap out.

UFC Fight Night: Teixeira vs. Saint Preux took place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
