UFC New Orleans Results: Dan Henderson Finishes Tim Boetsch in 28 Seconds

We barely had a chance to blink.

Dan Henderson picked up a first-round finish with a mauling of Tim Boetsch in the main event at UFC New Orleans on Saturday.

The 44-year-old Henderson landed his patented “H-bomb” and finished off Boetsch with strikes at just 28 seconds of the opening round.

“It's nice to … prove that I'm not quite done yet,” Henderson said. “I guess if I stick at it long enough, everybody will love me eventually, right?”

In the early moments of the fight, Boetsch moved forward with strikes and left himself open for a monstrous punch from Henderson. The right hand stunned Boetsch, making his legs give out from under him.

As he worked back to his feet, Boetsch found himself defending a swarm of punches from Henderson. An uppercut sent Boetsch falling to the ground, unconscious, and the referee ran in to stop the fight from going forward.

With the win in New Orleans, Henderson stops a two-fight skid and picks up bragging rights for the 40-year-old-plus crowd on the UFC roster.
