UFC Returns to Indy on Aug. 28 for Second Fox Sports 1 Live Event

The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday revealed that its second live event on Fox Sports 1 will also mark its second event in Indianapolis.

The UFC is slated to be a key player in the launch of Fox’s new national sports network on Aug. 17 with a live event at TD Gardens in Boston. Just 11 days later, on Aug. 28, the UFC will return to Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The last time the promotion was at Bankers Life Fieldhouse was on Sept. 25, 2010, for UFC 119. Frank Mir knocked out Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic in the UFC 119 main event.

The Aug. 28 card in Indianapolis doesn’t have any announced bouts yet, but will likely fill up fast with the date announced and tickets going on sale June 14.

The UFC is slated to produce three live fight events on Fox Sports 1 within the first three week’s of the networks launch: Aug. 17 in Boston, Aug. 28 in Indianapolis, and Sept. 4, which is likely to take place in Brazil.

The Sept. 4 event is also a two-hour block of leading up to the premier of season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter, also on FS1, and featuring Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano as coaches.
