Dustin Poirier Stops Anthony Pettis, Calls for Eddie Alvarez vs. Justin Gaethje Winner

Dustin Poirier is going to be sidelined for the near future following surgery on Wednesday.

The fast-rising UFC lightweight was successful in his unanimous decision victory over Joe Duffy at UFC 195, but suffered a broken nose in the process.

“I just got back from the hospital. My nose is broken in two spots,” said Poirier at the UFC 195 post-fight press conference on Saturday night.

Porier went into surgery on Wednesday. According to his post on Instagram, everything went well, as he said, “Surgery went well! Thanks for the support!”

The expected time for recovery is six weeks, so it's not likely that the injury will slow him down much. With that recovery timeline, Poirier could be back in the Octagon this spring.

Surgery went well! Thanks for the support! @headrushbrand all day!!!!
