UK coronavirus LIVE: Covid-19 cases hit four-month high as London's most at-risk borough revealed

British holidaymakers have been left frustrated and confused after ministers split the UK over travel quarantine restrictions.

Portugal and Greece have retained their places on England’s “travel corridor” list, despite widespread speculation that Westminster would reimpose strict measures after the countries reported a surge in coronavirus cases.

Meanwhile, coronavirus cases soared to four-month high after 1,940 new infections were recorded on Friday.

In other developments, Kensington and Chelsea has been identified as the London borough most at risk of becoming a Covid-19 “hotspot”, and later today the UK’s latest reinfection (R) rate will be published – with Leeds among the cities battling to contain new localised outbreaks.
