Unbeaten weekend for Taunton St Andrews senior teams

Taunton St Andrews' senior teams enjoyed a successful and unbeaten weekend of cricket.

All four sides' fine form continued, as three tasted victory while the other tied.

In a riveting match at WEPL Premier One Saints First XI, Saints took on Potterne.

The Saints, batting first, scored a commendable 297 for eight from 50 overs.

Cam Harding scored a considerable 48 runs before being dismissed.

The subsequent partnership between Gabriel Gallman-Findlay and James Matravers proved to be a game-changer.

They added 136 runs over the next 21 overs until Matravers was out for a well-made 67.

Gallman-Findlay yielded a remarkable 108.

The host side scored 278 from 48.3 overs leading to a Saints victory.

Lloyd Alley fittingly grabbed three wickets.

In the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League, Taunton St Andrews' Seconds hosted Winscombe.

After batting first, the home side accumulated 215 for nine from 45 overs.

Brother duos Martin Jenkins and Steve were primary contributors with scores of 76 and 35 runs respectively.

Winscombe were all out for just 92, a deserving testament to the Saints' bowling performance featuring Joe Wadham who achieved four wickets.

In the SCL Division Four, Saints A were hosted by Churchill.

Churchill scored 236 for eight while in return, the A team achieved their target with six balls to spare.

Theo Bennett and Theo Draper were the chief run-getters with scores of 63 and 62.

Saints B travelled to North Curry for a Division 7 Red match.

Batting first, the visitors posted 187 for six, greatly supported by Steve Pimm's swashbuckling 55 and Nile Pritchard's 40 runs.

The match reached an uncertain conclusion, ending in a nail-biting tie.

Meanwhile, the TSA Under 11 Wombats team bounced back from a previous defeat to Wembdon, winning the return match with a score of 324 for two, in response to Wembdon’s 258 for eight.
