USC QB Jaxson Dart is out indefinitely after knee surgery.

Dart suffered a torn right meniscus in the second half of the Trojans' win over Washington State on Saturday according to multiple reports. Per Rivals' TrojanSports.com, Dart had knee surgery on Tuesday and the injury happened when he was hit in the knee while scrambling in the first half.

Dart entered the game after Kedon Slovis suffered a neck injury. Dart was impressive in USC's 45-14 comeback victory as he was 30-of-46 passing for 391 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions. He also rushed for 32 yards.

Slovis has been deemed healthy enough to play in Week 4 and will start USC's game against Oregon State on Saturday after taking the first-team reps in practice. Dart's performance made it seem that he could be competing with Slovis to start going forward.

Dart was a four-star recruit and the No. 5 dual-three QB in the class of 2021 according to Rivals. He was the No. 2 prospect in the state of Utah and won the backup job ahead of the season. He helped lead USC to its first victory under interim coach Donte Williams after Clay Helton was fired following the team's Week 2 loss to Stanford.
