After dropping a set in her opener against French wild card Jaimee Fourlis, Caroline Wozniacki stormed into the French Open third round with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout over Canada’s Francoise Abanda.

The 52-minute match is the most efficient scoreline of this year’s French Open (so far) and joins a surprisingly lengthy list of WTA Grand Slam double bagel results.

Ons Jabeur’s dream debut at the French Open continued as the 22-year-old Tunisian beat sixth-seeded Dominika Cibulkova in straight sets (6-4, 6-3) to reach the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career.

Jabeur earned her place in the main draw as a ‘lucky loser’ after being beaten in qualifying and now she became not only the first Tunisian woman to reach the third round of a Grand Slam event in singles, but also the first from any of the 21 Arab countries. Amazing Milestone win.

Feliciano Lopez came out on top in a thrilling 5-set battle of Spanish veterans, defeating David Ferrer 7-5 3-6 7-5 4-6 6-4 in three hours and 52 minutes.

With Lopez aged 35, and Ferrer the same age, they are amongst the oldest players in the Top 50 of the ATP rankings. Yet both managed to put on a show for the fans on court three.

Thirty men aged 30 or over have reached the second round at the French Open this year — a professional era record for most 30-somethings in the second round at a Grand Slam, beating the previous high-mark of 27 at Roland Garros last year.
